How much does a custom rod cost?
Entry builds start at $100–$150. Standard builds run $150–$200. Premium builds are $250 and up, depending on components and complexity.
What is the lead time?
Typically 2–3 weeks from deposit to completed rod, depending on current order volume.
How do I pay?
Cash or Venmo. A 50% deposit is required to start your build; the remaining balance is due at pickup.
Do you ship?
No — all orders are local pickup only in Western Wisconsin.
What species and seasons do you build for?
OBG builds rods for all ice fishing species and seasons — panfish, perch, walleye, pike, and more. Every rod is spec'd to your target species and technique.
Can I customize the thread color and finish?
Yes — thread color, guide style, grip material, blank power/action, and epoxy finish are all chosen per order during the consultation step.
Do you do rod repairs?
Rod repair is offered on a case-by-case basis. Contact OBGcustomrods@gmail.com to discuss your situation.
Do you stand behind your work?
Yes. If there is a build defect OBG will make it right. Contact us directly and we will work it out.
